I have a theory what if Mr. A (the uncle) was turned into livestock then taken to the “center” for maybe something like disobedience aka the whole no egg laying injection thing, I reread it and that small scene of the uncle’s face looked to me like he had ears. Plus looking at the guy, he just doesn’t seem like the type to abandon the people he cares about. I also think that’s why in the beginning some of them were mean to K :( because they blame him, that’s why they said he made A leave
