for the dad, of course he's not blameless, but as a child of divorced parents that divorced in my early childhood so i don't have any memories of them being married, it's super common even with equal custody where you see them both just as much, to try and alienate the other parent, block contact between the child and their parent and instill false narratives about them and block the other parent from seeing their child, even in modern days with phones and social media, it's possible that a parent will kidnap their child and go overseas and disappear.
that's basically what happened to him, his wife suddenly divorced him and took their baby, blocked all contact by using excuses like "she doesn't want to see you" and block her from contacting anyone and lied wbout her not wanting his letter while she had no idea they existed. she had to travel days to go to her dad, so imagine how difficult it would be for a noble outside his territory to forcefully meet his daughter when she hasn't debuted in high society yet and thus never went outside her territory/mansion.
his blame is that he's never dug into how she lived when he could’ve and that he never connected with her in the past timeline once she entered high society, but he's not a monster like her mom.
Did you read before posting? The dad did show up and try to see the FL. The mom wouldn’t let him. He also consistently sent letters to her. He’s been under the impression she doesn’t want anything to do with him.
And this is a more realistic novel, not lala land fluff. The ML behaves as has been necessary for his survival and success. Children can be just as dangerous as adults, in war there is no difference. And subordination is appropriately dealt with.
There’s plenty of fluffy, unrealistic options available.
Yeah that was when she was first born/a child, but never anything after that. So again once besides that initial time would be better, because any fayher woukd try to see theie child when freshly born, but i want him to try once besides that. And did you read did you read what I posted or just went off on your own fumes? I never said anything about it being sunshine & rainbows, just that I disliked that part. Damn you're life must be that miserable to get mad at someone else's personal opinion.
Thank you for actually writing your view point ╥﹏╥ instead of saying "youre just wrong" and getting mad at my personal opinion. I personally think he has just as much blame as the mother, as he isnt a powerless men and could of tried harder. I understand the mom took the her, but I've seen other fathers in stories fight even just a little for their child. To me it felt like he just gave up to soon, and didn't try hard enough. He barely looked for her once, I wanted another time of him really trying. I dont see him as a monster, but just as sharing the blame in prolonging the abuse.
Thats okay, thank you for understanding and sharing your opinion. My comments might of been a bit confusing to read as I responded in the morning half-awake. I agree hes not a monster but my own personal mindset just cant let him off so easily. As I find if he just reached out a little harder it would of avoided much heartbreak for the family & fl. As avoidable situations in general conflict me, so I wanted to write my thoughts out.

The dad and ml piss me off. The father has just as much blame as the abusive mother. His negligence lead to her prolong suffering. And if he loved her so much why not try to see or talk to her once, just once so ppl can say "at least you tried". Then there is the latest chapter that has me morally conflicted. As I despise any character that kills children or are unnecessarily rough to the ppl around them. Ive see colder Ml and even then they didnt whip their knights for something as simple as that. I've even seen a ml that was mad about his fiance dying but not because someone killed her but because they killed her in his house. So it made me dislike him more but I do want him there to help the FL get her revenge.
