Is it not okay!!! A lot of mother says that because they project the gender expectations and role onto their daughter because they never got out of that role whether due to deeply ingrained patriarchy or their own trauma.

nah, definitely not. also, it's not a woman's job to clean, cook, do laundry or take care of kids, men have to do it too , it's everyone's responsibility, married or not (depends if u get kids). some way or another you'll have to do those to live pfft. it's part of being an adult. Its tough having a misogynist mother/family. All I can say is don't take them seriously, all these things are done by humans. You should do what you love and what's good for you!

Well, my take is that it's definitely normal for mothers to say that especially if they're around the millennials generation or above. It's normal for them. But definitely not for us lol. We just woke and recognize our own worth and freedom--- modern while they're on the traditional ideas and beliefs of what and how should women be. But yeah, u shouldn't take them to heart and find your own path as you grow. A man can be whatever you mom is describing too in this modern society.
