I had to drop this. Neat premise but the fact every character is incapable of communication and all of them are Muddleheaded is too frustrating to continue. And the indifference of the MC is fun for a little, but makes her evil. She knows that the child she adopted has enemies - political enemies - and so if she intends to protect the child, she needs to understand and get to know people and play the political game. Not doing so is abdicating her responsibility.
