I could be sooo out to lunch but here’s my thoughts. The story about the wife murdering the husband. That was his mother with the previous Duke. No children since they never knew one another biblically. Then she got knocked up by MC’s dad.
This means that our ML is actually half brother to MC. Obviously Ain is Ian (anagram for the win). It doesn’t feel like revenge since he seems into it. Maybe the only positive interaction in his life was with MC at some point.
Anyways. I choose to assume no red herrings here. I’m interested in what others think as well.
