I also felt that but I can understand brett doesn't let him in is major issue why Hayden has created wall around himself now to not let brett in now , since they both are alphas you can consider their situation is more on man to man situation than considering the feelings here since it's omegaverse characters has more soft spot for omegas compared to alpha. That's the situation here brett is clever rich and unpredictable he don't know if Hayden should be part of emotional support as Hayden wanted brett to be , in this relationship Hayden has always been at disadvantage due to be being bond ti brett is enough that Hayden do love brett and it's also hard for him to treat brett badly. But i also feel it's getting too much now it's likely brett chasing arc now.
I understand this because I lowkey feel the same way, but the thing is, Hayden never asked for any of this. Because of Brett’s revenge, and though not his fault, it ended up with Brett being assaulted. Knowing that someone I deeply cared about, ignored my wishes, got hurt FOR me, and tried acting like I was the weird one for not understanding, I would be really hurt (for themselves as well). It’s doesn’t feel good knowing that you’re the reason why that person got assaulted, even though not directly. Brett can logic as much as he wants, and honesty I agree with his logic, but none of that will erase the emotional aspect of it. I do think Hayden should’ve been more understanding that this is how Brett is, and that no matter how much convincing it would take, inherently, Brett is logic. But the same could be said for Hayden and his emotions, imo neither are in the wrong, just fundamentally different. Brett chasing is a result of trying to truly understand Hayden now, not just him doing his own whims (though he is failing miserably tbh ), but Hayden *needs* to do the same thing, it’s the one thing that’s bothering me in this series rn. Sorry for the rant, I just think these characters are sooo interesting
I feel like I’m probably the minority, but I kind of feel like Hayden is a bit unjustified in treating Brett so awful. Brett was assaulted by multiple people and very clearly was dealing with his trauma post that when he put his walls up around Hayden…. It wasn’t like he was horrifically cruel to him or anything
