Someone’s reply I really liked, and hope you all find some understanding through it. I genuinely don’t understand how people are calling WooWon prick for giving healthy distance, and acting like he really abandoned Seo-an, you need a therapist too if you believe they should stick together regardless of the power dynamic and other issues. Woowon has been too lenient with Seoan’s words, he has let it go, and then Seoan fucks it up by calling him incapable, reminding him of how ‘useless’ he feels. Woowon never had a privileged life where he could feel useful, he has tried, but he only had himself to rely for his whole life whereas Seo has power to get himself help, and if therapy won’t work for him, why do people expect it would for Woo?

Also Seo an used to be a hypocrite. He/people (readers) expected Woowon to stand up to his father, but Seo himself couldn’t stand up to his own. I also feel like it’s because Woowon’s father is poor and not of power, Seo a found it easier to stand against Woowon’s father. Another power Seo has, born into.

There is a power dynamic, so people expecting Woo to feel grateful only is fucked up to say the least, I have seen commenters saying Woo is ungrateful, how Seo does a lot for him and he isn’t thankful—they are missing the point by miles. And honestly Seo did help a lot, but he screws it up with his words at times. Here is post I found and loved reading, amazing (Credits @Ryouse Ishikawa):

“Basically, when Woowon's abusive father died from the incident, has been haunted with nightmares of him. This also caused him to be more clingy and touchy towards Seo-an. In fact, he panics when he's not around...

However, the reason why Seo-an is mad is because Woowon didn't refuse the invitation of the guy who holds the video of Seo-an punching his face (refer to the 2nd season chapter where Seo-an beat someone's face after forcefully kissing Woowon). Part of the fact as to why Wowoon still met up with the mf is because he wanted to do something for Seo-an. And instead,

Seo-an sees this as "Wowoon incapabilities" that it is outside of his jurisdiction to care for this matter and there are better things to focused on like confronting his self both from the past and the future.

There is a line that I particularly like, when Seo-an said "you're useless on your own so stop trying to fix anything" I don't like this solely because of the words but the fact that this admonition speaks just how privileged Seo-an is. We all know that his father is also abusive, nonetheless, he had the means to:
a. therapy
b. to separate himself from the spatial dominion, the environment of his abuser (hence the golden palace, the penthouse he has)

Meanwhile Wowoon didn't have any of that. He had to bear with everything that he's gone through. He was never given the space to look after himself because he had to live with his abuser and at the same time his idea of "helping" is fixing everything that he can. He worked multiple jobs. He stopped going school etc. etc. This was his and Seo-an's great divide. This is also the reason why he left Seo-an atm because his only means of fixing didn't even fixed anything at all.

I know a lot of people feels like the story has been "dragging" thus far but in my opinion, it is a very crucial aspect of building their individual resolve, their dynamics, especially if they choose to be together for a long run. From the vergmy beginning, Upi-nim (the author) made it clear that their narrative will not be flat or linear just for the sake of romance. In fact, from the earliest chapters—the part when Wowoon took a hint of

Seo-an's interest towards him, he said something "I want to relax and accept things for myself but I know that's not the role I meant to play" (ref. to chap 18) We see from this just how far they are in terms of dynamics, that Seo-an has the privilege to pursue him, he didn't need to think of anything. Seo-an's sure of something he wants. Wowoon doesn't know what he wants because he's never even had the privilege to refuse.”

AND IN THE RAWS, THEY MADE UP! 4 or 3 chapters from now but at least it isn’t 10. This has been hard on both Seo an and Woo. I know I sounded like a Seo an hater, but would you believe me if I said my favorite is Seo an? Not because of his personality, but because of his appearance and his similar relatable situation: rich family, but poor in morality and/or character.

Seo an finally stands up to his dad. Long before, I saw him as a hypocrite. But he is no longer the exact same, he has some improvements and I don’t feel it’s too early to say. He and Woowon both talked about how they felt, missing each other, and more.

SEPARATION TIMELINE: Apparently it’s been 1-2 years since their break up. So I’m sure both of them have somewhat healed or recovered from the previous incident/drama.

A talk they should have had long ago, but I don’t think it would’ve changed anything if they talked about this earlier. They needed separation to feel the longing. In some relationships, longing helps their relationship grow stronger, more willingness to listen to one another, etc.

I’m so happy.
