Mari's story will go like: her novel will somehow salvage sensei and give him hope. after that he will be able to stay strong for his gf, and Mari can finally move on from him. given the fact that releasing a love story between a teacher and a student is forbidden in this day and age, and sensei is not that kind of person anyway, that's the best ending for Mari's one-sided love!
for Hikaru, I really don't know for sure cuz anything can happen lol. but I feel like Hikaru is not someone who changes her heart easily. she looks like the type who loves really deeply. also, Oohtani's feelings for Mari wasn't even that deep he only liked her first because of her appearance, and now that he gave up on her, he can move on fast. that being said Hikaru ending up with Oohtani will make more sense, at least to me. I love hot guys so I really like Asa though lol
