I suppose it could depend on the meaning of the words, the way we (want to) understand it.
"If you dare" imply the desiring person "decides" to. "If you can", I prefer to read as "if I let you". And as it's about Grayson, I hope it's Dane NOT letting him have what he desires so easily.
It has to do with the name of the series. The stories of the Miller family all end with "...if you can"
Eat me up if you can
Lick me up if you can
Kiss me if you can
Run away if you can
Desire me if you can
(Deflower me if you can)
Yes I got that from the series, I just thought that Desire me if you dare sounded better Just my opinion
“If you can” kinda means ‘I want you to want me’ at least to me. It’s giving of ‘I hope that you will’ desire me if it’s in your capacity to do so. But ‘desire me if you dare’ kinda sounds like I dare you to desire me’, I dare you to come for me with everything you have and then I’ll decide what it means. So desire me, show me what you’ve got, I dare you’. It sounds like a challenge. I just thought it fitted those 2 perfect. Again these are just my thoughts.
