but i thought the pure souls are killed in order to be sacrificed. His mom was a pure soul not a powerful vessel.
Yeah, but a plot twist would be if she was the vessel. The church saying she's dead, but in fact she isn't kind of thing.

Imagine the impact to the story line if she was or no wait o_o his father!!! His corpse was never recovered! Holy crap I completely forgot his father was "killed" but the one that was with him never recovered the body so there wasn't a burial.
And I think then the angel that will fight him later is he's mother.
