Remember he is the co debtor of his shitty dad (without him knowing after his sign stamp got stolen). Then shitty dad offered to use baby face (since he's a valuable omega and all) as collateral for additional loan he asked from ML and ML agreed and they signed a contract on it. So if the dad fails to pay his loan obligations, ML can legally own baby face unless MC can pay it off (which I doubt he can).
Mind you baby face fully trusted this goon of an ML after they bonded but the moment he knew that ML had enabled MC's trashy father and the condition of the debt, I think that's where the divorce arc will start
I hope they just continue this domesticated life longer but I'm still dreading the day baby face finds out about the debt contract
