The reason why old Anna ran away to her original world was bc of her mother. Her mother was mentally unstable and she wanted to be there for her.
The real way for Anna and her ex to go back to the original world is by waiting until the red moon appears(comes once a year) while wearing their original clothes they had on when they got teleported. It was her ex who told her this information and she was late to find out. Anna couldn't go back bc she sold her original clothes for money in the beginning and so thats also why the ML took her underwear and burned it (he knew how she could return and lied to her).
