i still don't understand where this story's going dan is still leaving (even tho he's obv going to change his mind later on) so unless jk already decided he was going to retire after the final match then he's going to need to find another way to satisfy his jinx. other people don't work. it NEEDS to be dan. but dan's not going to be here for future matches. and jk hasn't shown to consider this fact at all nor has he shown any desire to fix his jinx or at least substitute sex for another healthier habit.
i wonder if mingwa doesn't even intend to "fix" jk's jinx. imo it's sudden and unearned if jk suddenly doesn't need to sleep with dan right before the last match. i also wouldn't be surprised if something happens to dan's grandma right beforehand, leaving him unable to aid jk to literally force jk to confront his jinx.
usually the plot is a tool to push a character's development. and the biggest conflict is this entire series is jk's unhealthy obsession with winning and his abusive relationship with sex and the cause of both of these flaws is his jinx. it's the reflection of his self worth. he needs to learn that winning isn't end game and to stop treating people as tools to satisfy his jinx fr. just bc he's in love with dan now it doesn't erase the way he abused his sex partners in the past.
