I dont think so...they didn't seem to see him as a human. He was always a plaything or pet to them that they kept around. Uke is unreliable narrator... He was blinded by the small generosity he getting from them when no one was there for him. But all three of these men were rich af... the help they gav probably wasnt much for them.
