What lowkey pisses me off about these type of stories is how much they fuck up the timeline. They treat a country like it's one small neighbourhood where everyone can visit everyone after a 5min carriage ride. As if a dukedom doesn't normally consist of a huge separate territory where it could take a few days ride to reach the capital where the palace and high temple are usually situated (even if the dukedom is bankrupt, let alone when it's as rich and resourceful as this one). Or like when it was supposed to be only two weeks before the birthday banquet but then the Duke got shot and even took a long time off that the scars even healed and yet they still had a few days to spare before the banquet and they only like a day before or something lmao, like just how many days do they have in their weeks? xD like I get it's just a cute silly story but a lack of attention to detail like that never fails to piss me off, maybe I'm just a nerd
