I loved this comment. First, I agree with your opinion regarding "replacements". I get it when someone dies or if they are 100% hetero and you're gay, but for cowardice to be the reason, it pisses me off. Second, I admire your self awareness and acceptance that not everyone thinks or acts as you do. That is a rare and admirable trait these days. Third, damn you have a great sense of humour. Your "Maury" episode title was priceless and it made me laugh. So, thanks for all of it.
I always get frustrated with manga where one character is in love with someone, but won't take the risk to come out with it, and uses another person as a replacement. Double frustrated when the replacement is a family member of the original love interest. Good thing Kyuu was able to deal with the fact that Toshi was banging his brother. Personally, I would have a hard time with my childhood friend having sex with my sibling as a replacement, even though I found out later that they loved me all along. That's just me. Tons of people do shit that I couldn't do though, as evidenced by those talk shows with episodes with titles like, "My husband got both my sisters pregnant, and now I hate them but they still make me babysit!"
