Kirino's choice reflects how important is the opinion of your parents when you want to change something about yourself. He made pleasing his mother his top priority and that's not wrong, but it's not ok either. In the end he suppressed his true self for a superficial happiness and some kind of warm family, but what if he's always wishing, or asking himself if his choice was ok? Is that real happiness?
His mother destroyed his true self, so I hate her with all my heart. I hate old mentalities and phobias that made some people hate on other people for nothing. It's disgusting, unfair and sad, and the reason for all the endless conflicts in this damned world. If only the "mothers" in this planet could love their children for who they are, if only they could wish for their happiness regardless of what their choices are... Nobody would have to become a Kirino and prejudices would slowly disappear.
Or maybe I'm just too open minded, who knows.
I'm happy for Mishima and glad that he had such a supportive mother.
