I can only see this ending as " sad" i even teared up. Let's put the dreamy us aside and think in a realatistic way he is a yakuza he can never tell others about the man he loves cuz al will get killed for sure he can't run away because he is a man of pride and we like that about him one day he's supposed to give a yondaime for the family ( child) so he can't divorce kaoru cuz it will cause troubles to both families . he can see al only few times a year maybe .. that's just soo sad i shoul've just sticked to the ova ... but still i hope for a continuation maybe the author will find better solutions.
