What if Aoi was right and Ashiya Sakae was a human that could see spirits and did die 100 years ago, but he became a humanoid spirit himself, a powerful one. Maybe even a real grim reaper. Somehow, 20-ish years ago he came to the world of the living, met Ashiya's mom, fell in love and had 2 children. But was forced by the 3 rulers of the spiritual realm to go back and resume his duties. Maybe under the conditions that his family would be left alone. And eventually managed to come back to see them, but just for a day.
I don't know. It might be just wishful thinking on my part, since I REALLY don't want Abeno to turn out to be related to Ashiya by blood in any way, and would rather that Ashiya's dead was not an asshole.
Maybe the Abeno that played with Yahiko 60 years ago could actually be Ashiya's dead. Or Abeno may actually be part yokai and not be aware of that. Who knows? ╮(￣▽￣)╭
