I mean if you read chapter 7 again, he gives back the envelope with all the money inside, so I’m pretty sure that it means Taesung used his own money. He’s rich anyways so it’s not like he wouldn’t have money? So yeah, Taesung isn’t too bad of a guy.

Taesung called his friends accomplices for also eating off that money, so would it be his own money or haebom's? you figure that out. Haebom didn't open the envelope so it doesn't clearly state that he got back all his money. It could be that maybe Taesung put his own money back in the envelope. Otherwise I have no idea why they used the word accomplice and made ppl think that Taesung used the money.

yeah i didn't get it either. he used the money to treat his friends or maybe he just pretended but in the first place, why did he do it? he could've just give it back immediately, that was an option. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I mean I get what you’re saying, but it could be that Taesung is just pretending to be bad. I think he called his friends “accomplices” because he didn’t want them to know that he was going to actually give it back to Haebom. The author doesn’t state why Taesung wants to do a bad thing, but he could be pretending to his friends as well to make it seem like he did something bad. I’m not trying to make Taesung always good because I don’t know him that well in the story yet. I could be 100% wrong about this. But Taesung could just be pretending and hiding it from his friends. Taesung called his friends accomplices because he wanted to maybe seem bad to them. He wanted to seem like he did something bad, and his friends were all helping him out without knowing why. Maybe he wants to seem like the bad guy here? It’s only 7 chapters in, we have a while until we get to see Taesung’s reasoning behind this.

He doesn't want them to find out about him and Haebom because he doesn't want them to get interested in Haebom, befriend him, and then get along with him better than he himself does... Haebom is Taesung's bae and his alone!

this is probably the best answer out of all of the ones here. his friends just think that taesung spent haebom's money and tried to cover up the fact he still had it, by pretending (and telling) his friends were accomplices. whether haebom checks to see if it's all there or not is a non-issue, because it's obviously implied. i wouldn't read to much into if it's taesung or haebom's money, because it's a moot point since the fact is is that he did it to return the money to haebom.
