Asoda is the best. I feel like sensei uses certain characters to voice the concerns of the reader, and Asoda is that character in this story. In Yondaime, it's Nozomi, who can't understand why Tatsuyuki protects Rogi. Sensei lets these characters carry the reader's thoughts (which she has predicted) into the story. I think she's a genius.

I still have hope! I think he's going to have a big part in story, also because during one of the livestream of Scarlet Beriko I had the chance to ask her (thanks to a lovely person in the chat willing to translate my question from English to Japanese) about Asoda role in the story... Aaaand she kinda skipped the question, she answered with a merely "yes" but the translator told me she sounded like she didn't want to add or reveal too much. So I guess Asoda is not being there to just voice our concerns, he's there because he's a good guy and plotwise is gonna be a big chess piece. I've also seen Beriko-sensei drawing the last chapter that's gonna come out at the end of the month (chapter 8) and the interaction between Akitora and Asoda looks pretty interesting!

I don't mean that's his sole role. Nozomi is a main character and love interest but still can carry the reader into the story. I did see that bit of chapter eight and am also intrigued and looking forward to seeing where that's going.
