I couldn’t read Hate Mate bc I disliked it so much but I really like this story lol.

I think you also have to approach it from Yeon duks pov. I originally dropped it before cause i thought he was dumb. But if you think about it, Yeon Duk doesn't even know how to completely get out of this relationship because that's all he knew for his whole life. I continued it after I sense that there was more to it. (Something like a commentary on abusive relationships) A lot of BL are worse than this in terms of emotional and physical abuse but end up with the seme and uke together. I would be pissed if they ended up together.

The uke grew up and the trash seme got cosmic slapped. I enjoyed it so far. But Yeonduk is not like Subin. Yeonduk is genuinely a nice kid who has been used by everyone around him and has loved this guy so long that he keeps hoping, hoping...until he faces the truth. Now, he's gotta grow up , like Subin. I like Yeonduk more than Subin, though.

EXACTLY. Since he was, what? 4 or 5 he's been trapped into this position he can't seem to escape, put there by adults and then by SKyler..trapped in the middle. Every time he tries to break free, the mother (his or Skyler's) get him back. Then Skyler plays him and gets him back. It's like this web. But he's seen the web now, more of the truth (though I suspect not all) and he's ripping the web up.

the fact that after years of him mistreatin Yoen duk he is able to forgive him at one nice word/act is hella disturbing but then we also learns that skyler mother pays for his school fees and his mother palour and other stuffs.. like he has no option but to follow skyler like a dog moreover Yeongduk 's mother too pressure him to maintain the so called **** friendship... so i have mixed feeling for Yeongduk at a point i feel pity at other angry too..

Wow, you just probably gave victims of abuse flashbacks. Love is not a choice. Just like SEXUAL ATTRACTION IS NOT A CHOICE. But here you are on a page about ONE wondering why the other is NOT a choice. I mean, why do you THINK homosexuality continued despite prohibitions against it from time immemorial? Because they could not CHOOSE WHO THEY LOVE. After all, sexual attraction may not be love but for some people sexual attraction has a LOT to do with it. So, hypocrisy, much?

I will avoid ALL commentary by you from now on, as it makes ME feel like I need to take a bath. Especially when it comes from one who can't seem to actually READ the story. I mean, it IS a choice to BLATANTLY IGNORE the abusive mother, abusive landlord, the MC's OWN unambiguous questions regarding his relationship with Skyler, etc.... So why aren't you castigating YOURSELF for actually doing what you falsely accuse the MC of doing? Double standards too, I see.

How the hell did you spin my frustration with him loving an abusive prick after ten fucking long years a commentary on sexuality? Girl, I am going tk need you to take several seats and make like Hilary and visit the woods.

I see how trap he is. My problem is, through all the abuse and mistreatment, it frustrates me that he STILL love him. I do not understand that. When I say he runs after him like a dog, it is how Skyler will treat him like pure scum and you'll have him outside his bedroom door apologize non-end. It is disgusting and I want to smack him! I HATE seeing people give their love to undeserving individuals. I want people to be in healthy relationships--i.e., love those who love you too. And that's why this manhwa and Hate Mate infuriated me to no end.

If him getting revenge meant he did not feel any romantic longing for Skyler I would not have made that comment. That is not the truth, I see him reviewing his memory and getting angry bc somewhere deep within him he thought at one point Skyler wanted him. Recall he stated he was Skyler's first love? That is hogwash. He also said that girl, Minjo(?) Was Skyler first love. The boy is lost and I am tired of this abusive ass relationships done wrong.

If at the end of the story, Yeon duk gets proper help and process his relationship with Skyler and his family properly and do not end up in a romantic relationship with him, I can forgive and understand this plot and the flow of this story. However, otherwise, this is it for me. 2018 is the year I keep my blood pressure low and do not get a rise from fictional stories.

I tend to stay away from them. The older I've gotten the thinner my patience with this half baked, terrible stories have thinned out. I have no time to read things that displease me. The little time I have, I like to spend it doing things I enjoy and that brings me great pleasure.

Funny thing is, this is how humans are. How many talk shows have a woman over and over abused or mistreated say she stays with the guy becuase "she loves him." How often to we see the cases of mistreatment followed by kindness followed by mistreatment? This is VERY real life-like, and it shows that humans are not so easy, are complex, are trapped by all manner of emotions and situations, and sometimes take a long time to come to the realization that it's self-destructive.

This mc is not stupid. This mc has been placed in an impossible situation for a kid (he was in this situation since age 4 or 5) and is now as a 15 or so year old figuring out that it's not healthy and he must fight back. Part of fighting back is revenge, but part of it is also mentally reassessing. It's traumatic for him--he's having bad nightmares and is physically one dge--but it's also part of growing. He and Skyler doubtless are gonna confront things. The kid in the wheelchair is a catalyst for growth (hence his sunshine hair, I suppose).

People make stupid decisions and can't get free of old habits ALL the time. If it were not so, the world would be a paradise. Instead, it's full of infidelities, addictions, abuse, vices, etc. Because we sometimes never get out of our bad habits or situations and sometimes we just rot there. But this kid is not rotting. He's starting to fight for his own identity.

This is far from half-baked.

I supposed I did'mispoke.' The half-bakeness of this manhwa depends on the future chapters, and I, truthfully, do not believe I will be around for the rest of it.

I believe I hate him this much because I am insensitive and hate clingy and sensitive people. He is all the things I hate. And I HATE abusive lovers. I just hate how in yaoi the abused ends up running and falling in love with the abuser. It infuriates me.

I understand Yeon duk (who is prob 16 more than 15), has been put in a difficult position concerning Skyler. I, for the life of me, do not understand how he can love and crave him. I also do not understand the mentality of women who stay with abusers, so that is saying a lot. But, for 10 years, he watched Skyler bully him and stand by while others torture him. How can he still want him?

I am attracted to nice guys, and have never liked the bad boy thing, so maybe that's why I do not understand the appeal. Tenderness should always win. As the saying goes, you catch more flies using sugar than you do with viniger, but maybe that do not apply to human and Yeon duk is a masochist.
