in the book they say an incubus can brainwash the person, not a werewolf, and more fucked up people kill these supernatural beings (who seem to want to mind their own business) than the other way around
it's a situation where the phrase "better safe than sorry" kicks in. the humans had a choice, risk the entire human civilization, or guarantee safety from these things. that's like seeing a family of rats in your house and you don't exterminate them cause you hope that they don't bite you or your children and the food cause rats usually "mind their business" and then they give you a random disease and then you all die.
this is where it is shown that humans have no empathy and are no better than animals themselves, better safe than sorry? so kill all creatures that we don't have knowledge of? is that how our society progressed so far? there might be some cases where it could be a threatening issues but jumping to conclusion instead of proper research is very lazy and heartless. and lol relating them to rats? have u ever seen rats? they are an infestation,, they aren't here to mind their business.,, and moreover that werewolf family lived in hiding because of those hunters, despite that other guy being rich. however it's how u wanna look at the story, your point of you, although I find it disgusting, ill respect that.
I mean, regular animals kill and eat each other to survive and suddenly humans are the bad guys? wait actually we are the bad guys.. *COUGH* DEFORESTATION *COUGH* but you get the point, and I never said I wouldn't feel bad, it'll be sad, but then I think of how they'd probably eat my fam given the chance and then I can deal with it. well i never personally got insight on the werewolf lady so she could possibly have brainwashed that guy. And even tho those are kids.....those are kids that'll grow up to kill many innocent people for food one day but the world may never know cause they're all dead now xd i wouldn't wanna risk finding out if they'd do any of that stuff. this is how you not die kids.
