Because it just means maybe the so called love between the pair isn’t strong enough to withstand external pressure, threats and third party pursuit. When another party confessed to a party in a relationship, it’s ok to be moved by the confession I mean humans are not so cold blooded that we don’t have feelings. But. It’s a different meaning if you actually entertain the thought about leaving your current partner and being w the other party.
