This is so so sooooo beautiful... Passionate lovers unable to be together freely.. forced to keep up appearances while living secretly together... Gorgeous Art... Kind of a sad story, but addictive.. I want Meili to start gaining independence... maybe become a chef, or a perfumer.. His life is toooo cruel as it is. ╥﹏╥
And I couldn't help but notice that the cover picture is a moment during the honeymoon... I feel like that was a particularly happy moment that will just turn into a nostalgic and painful memory as things start getting harder and harder until all that's left are that photo Lu Bin took and all the loving memories of the past ╥﹏╥

It’s more like unofficially adopted brothers. Meili is the son of his mother who has cancer and his father who has died and hasn’t only been seen in flashbacks. His father was the apprentice/close friend of Ge’s father. And Ge’s father is (I think dead? I legit have no idea if it was mentioned whether or not he died just that he’s obviously not in the picture anymore) and his mother is the hangry platinum/purple haired woman we’ve been seeing.

So they have no blood relation and the whole “brothers” title was kind of just a placeholder thing that I’m assuming Ge’s father suggested because, after the death of Meili’s father, he vowed to take care of both him and his mother since he was close friends with his dad. Then it seems he fell (one-sidedly I think) in love with Meili’s mother and, because he was taking care of her and her son, RUMORS that she was his mistress began to spread.

So yeah, not real brothers. The description for the manga feels a little deceptive for people that ARE into the whole brother/brother thing I guess, but it at least says step-brother even though that’s still not entirely true since Mieli’s mother and Ge’s father were never married.
