Im not actually from the UK fyi, but where I'm at, you can consent at age of 16 but you cannot consent to sex with someone over the age of 18, until you are 18.
actually it doesn't matter if you're at the age to have consensual sex because if he is over the age of 18 he is classified as a rapist because hes having sex with a minor. which means it doesn't matter if they consented or not its statutory rape.
In my country (Denmark) you're allowed to have sex when you're 15 and there's no rule about it not being legal to have sex with someone who's 18+.

In Canada, I forget the age but I know if you're a teen you can consent with another teen. Just not anyone 18+.

Until last year...only violent act with vaginal penetration with a penis was defined as rape in Japan... they waited for 110 years to change/ adapt the law... so in this case there was no rape legally speaking. In fact before this new law no man Could be recognized as a rape victim in Japan...

Also in my country, legal sex is 16 I believe but you can't have sex with someone older than 18! but I think it depends, like I think if it's consual it works ? I am actually not too sure but the other person can't be too old though

While TECHNICALLY the age of consent is 13 due to some archaic laws, there are plenty of child safety laws that protect minors up until 18 or 20. Hence why it's not a regular, supported practice for adults to have relations with minors (and why things like being a lolicon is considered a BAD thing). While yes, there are always disgusting loopholes, the same could be said for the USA, sooo. Yeah. But for the most part, it is considered a crime to do things with minors even in Japan.

Even though the age of consent is 18 if you're married then you can have sex if the wife is 15. But that's kinda ironic because the legal age to get married is 18 for females and 21 for males

So I just googled and found out that Japan's national legal age of consent (federal law - it does vary somewhat in prefectural law), ie. for consensual sex, is 13 YEARS OLD. The lowest of any developed country. Grown ass adults having sex with 13 year olds is totally legal. That's f*cked up but explains so much in manga.
Edit: further investigation tells me that prefectural law generally takes precedence and raises the age to between 16-18, depending on the prefecture, although federal law still says 13. Also, to be fair, South Korean age of consent is apparently also 13. Which I also find f*cked up.
