Yes (it's been a long slog with no end in sight!), I think the saddest scene is from Yashiro's teenage years when he puts on his act, with that stupid over the top smile. He uses sarcasm as a defense, and hasn't grown out of it. Only recently have we seen Yashiro express some authentic emotions (like when he cries and struggles over his feelings for Doumeki). If anything, it would be nice, (or maybe it's just cringey of me to think this) for Yashiro to show a real smile, or laughter at some point.
Yashiro has lived a horrible life so far, he was never happy in his life. Some people want the end to be tragic, like with the death of doumeki, because they believe that it will change yashiro. Tbh, i think that yashiro isn't that type of person. If doumeki dies, yashiro will start to punish himself even more and turn in even worse circumstance than he already is. As an old reader, that started the story of yashiro from his teenage years to doctor's love story, the only reason i read saezuru was to give yashiro a fucking happy ending he deserves. So people wanting a tragic end, good for you, i am with you BUT not in this manga, not for yashiro. If doumeki dies i will start a riot. Seriously.
