Not at all, don't worry you can read it safely. What made the 2nd story crappy is mainly the plot which become boring (and it seems like I'm not the only one thinking it) + the protagonists become empty shells. But I must admit the chara-development weren't really performant even in the 1st story. Besides, it's true the story lose his BL vibes in the 2nd story and it's quite frustrating since the fluff scenes from the 1st story were really nice!

AHAH we have so much hope! I totally understand you. This end was so frustrating that I even started reading doujinshi to give them a future together, but I never find one in which the characters were like in the manga/ anime. Most of the time, Nezumi was like a puppet, he lose all his badass x) It's why I usually never read Doujinshi. Don't plan to buy the light novel, the end don't change either, sadly. =(
