What kind of Christianity is that? If it ain't Catholic, or Protestant it makes no sense to me. All the other christian religions basically take a some catholic and protestant virtues, values, and beliefs, add their own in and bam, there's their religion. At least in my experience. I still go to church with my family (catholic) and I've never come across this type of preaching before. But we have priests not pastors so I knew they're different, but I never knew how much. If it was me in your position I'd honestly be giving him the stank face while holding in my laughter. I don't know how you persevered but I commend you. Because with catholics, there are the readings from the bible, the gospel reading the priest does (also from the bible) and then he talks/preaches about what we understand from the piece he read and how we can relate to it or what it means. I've never come across a preach/speech like the one you've described. And I hope I never will. *Fist bump* for making it through and for your effort.(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

As per usual today my mom dragged me to church and I had to listen to 3hours of the pastor telling us about how masterbation is Sin, how committing adultery is a sin, how fornication is a sin , how today's music is satanic and encouraging young people to be pernicious and how being gay is an abomination.
I was so tempted to start laughing and for real couldn't stop smiling to myself but at the same time was really uncomfortable. The church was really small and the pastor threatened to drag any of the young people not saying hallelujah to the alter for prayer....
