Agreed. I’m internally swearing her up, down, left, and right, because she’s a terrible excuse for a human being, let alone a mother. She can go piss up a rope and try to climb it, as far as I’m concerned.

Trash was the word that came to my mind too. Of course the ring would be special, so why do that?
Previous experience tells me that calling a ring "my precious" never ends well.
