As a woman myself I'd rather endure in order to reach a point where I may be able to change their society, she's already maing changes in the King and her brother's and they are the ones who will affect their kingdom and it's future. So I'd rather endure it to cause change and help those other woman who may come later have a better life than those currently. Perhaps if it was reality, in a society as such it would be easy to die as a commoner. But this isn't about what if's, it's about our MC who is a princess. She was placed a one of the highest positions available to a woman in this 'world'. Changes can happen from the ground up, but more often than not, real change comes from the top. If she can cause the king to really care about the entire well being of a woman (herself) then placing her in a slaves stead and thinking on the feelings that situation brings can very well change the king's heart and therefore eventually change society and it's laws. If in fact she dies before society can change, then she very well would be the foundation that the change will be built on, if she dies than she probably set the stage for another to continue what she started. Don't be narrow-minded, the future can go in infinite directions with infinite possibilities, the second you condemn yourself for fear of the inability to create change is the day you sign your own death. Stop being a child and look at it like an adult and not someone with a one-sided narrow mindset. Sure she could die, but she lives knowing full well that she could die at any moment.
