I think Tong was not totally oblivious of Shen's feelings; she was reluctant to leave when 2nd bro told her to and she was very concern about her promise to Shen, I think Tong somewhat know the reason why she was sent away.
As a form of gratitude for the family who sheltered and gave her love, the fact she was a rabbit spirit and still given the family name Baili , she left to lessen their problem about Shen's engagement.
I come to this conclusion when I read the part were she first came to the past and saw Lianlian again differently, she did not approach him directly and she is somewhat calculative.
...and maybe one of the reason why her spirit split. Maybe the last time she reincarnated Shen was able to truly show his feelings to Tong, knowing Tong maybe she wanted to be with him and also Lianlian, the problem is since they did not have their past memories maybe a problem might brew to the twins about their feelings.
Her soul split?! Okay I did not know that, but it makes so much sense. I with it, I like it.
Its not for sure though, just speculations, because if they were reincarnated a lot of times why did she have a twin on the most recent? Or... she did have a twin even before and was not yet introduced. We really don't know. I hope that it turns out too be good. (=・ω・=)

Me too. I know Shen creepy, but the lengths he have gone for her are far. He has literally forsaken almost everyone for her. Maybe her shouldn’t have, but he did and his devotion is real. At times his affection feels possessive and entitled, but I think he just wants her to love him as wholly as he loves her.
I support lianlian x tong, but I feel bad for shen. Yeah, he needs to understand no means no, but he’s a pretty decent person or being. Maybe he’ll end up with her twin. If that princess is from heaven or whatnot is decent maybe her. I don’t want this to end with him alone. He’s just so sad with his obsession.
