An easy way to avoid/clarify misunderstandings: TALK ABOUT IT. Like Renji could have just told Haru about the lies Eiji told him when Renji left... Well at least I assume they were lies, since Renji does not look like the type of person who would abandon his loved one. Not sure if Hatu would believe him immediately since he was "raised" with that believe, but the situation would have turned out much better ... I think.

And also, both of them are sketchy AF! Eiji is so manipulative and selfish, my repulsion even rubs off on Kitazono ... That childhood friend never did anything wrong (well until now) but I somehow don't like these two (help me I'm turning into a hater *cries*)Σ( ̄□ ̄||)

Poor Haru... He deserves much better, even his own family sucks! Right now I'm still Team Renji, as long as he won't turn out to be a part of that "cage" ┗( T﹏T )┛

So he's prioritizing his brother over his mate while his brother is prioritizing his childhood friend over his lover. Guess neither of them are worthy of Haru, then.

Cloudy, love how you put this. This makes communication actually seem like a two way street rather than also accusing the one already doing most of the emotional labour of failing. After all, the argument that both sides are always wrong is completely false.

I don't think it's that easy. Haru was taught to believe everything Eiji said so naturally renji would be the liar. Renji doesn't know what to think because he just returned and is picking up the pieces. Eiji is too absorbed with his fiancé to care, much less explain himself.
