I've known about 20 girls like mari, and lets just say we never stayed friends for long. They always make the situation worse by holding stupid grudges. Yeah, he messed up too, but the right thing would be to forgive him or just walk away. This is why most of my friends are guys
I stay away from girls like Mari too, but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when I hear women saying "and that's why my friends are guys" makes us all seem women feel like sh*t, I have great female friends as I have great male friends, let's not generalize. I have meet royal asshole guys as well.

Did you actually read it correctly? He did apologize to Mari, she just wouldn’t listen to him. He also didn’t actually cheat with her boyfriend, it was her brother, so technically that doesn’t count as cheating at all. You seem like you’re a bit similar like Mari where you overthink things and hold grudges when you think someone did you wrong. I can completely understand why she’s feels betrayed and it’s okay to be mad, but at this point she’s overreacting. Saying that she’ll ruin all his relationships just cause she was hurt by the idea of being betrayed by her friend. I think you’re thinking way too hard about the whole “best friend betrayal” thing and forget about how she did the exact same thing as well. They both stayed with a guy who they “knew” was taken, so how does she not realize that they should have the same reasons and feelings as to why they stay with the guy. They both felt guilty, they both participated in affairs (kinda). And how do you know she wouldn’t continue seeing the guy she liked if that lady was her best friend? Everyone understands how Mari feels betrayed, what people won’t understand is how she overrreacts, and is a psychotic hypocrite.
