To me i think that it is just based on preference as well as how people feel. Many people read yaoi because of the guy on guy action/story. So when they see a woman it might not fit what they want to see or expecting. Like they didnt come here looking for guy/girl stuff. It doesnt mean that they find her disgusting or unappealing (although some might really feel that way).
I hope that kind of helps you understand.

It’s not as common to see in a yaoi, so maybe people are just surprised?
Also, I do not like the way manga and manhua depict women. It’s highly offensive. Waaaay more sexist than even a conservative evangelical republican American treats women. So, when I’m reading, I’d rather just not see female characters at all. It helps me enjoy my escape from reality. Otherwise I get offended and upset by the way their depicted.
I still get offended and upset by a lot of yaoi (don’t get me started on victims falling for their rapist) but I've seen a change in some trends and that helps. Especially because there are sooooo many stories that have characters with a lot of depth that make up for the stories with bad tropes.
If the women in yaoi or even in any manga or manhua were written as strong characters, with depth and not just some horrible stereotype, then I would enjoy their contribution to the story. And every now and then it does happen. It’s just very far and few between.

I can understand that. Women are depicted in a very negative light in yaoi and I have also had the feelings off being offended as well. There have been a few awesome women in some stories, but not many. Thank you very much for pointing that out as well. I really appreciate hearing your opinion. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

i'm heterophobic LMAO jk
i think everyone who commented on sexism is right. i really hate to see all those yaoi girls getting hurt, being targed as bitches and not having a face just to serve as
scapegoat while everyone is aiming for a bad cliché. (i'd like every side character to have faces btw).
BUT to be honest the title and synopsis baited a lot of people whose preference is limited to only boyxboy relationship into thinking it was exclusively like that (look at the cover, it's so kinky and cliché). people like yaoi for a reason: because it generally focus on the GAY. i appreciate the artist's work and them trying to add depth and show more of the main character's sexuality (and for once not making the girl die or whatever while she probably plays an important part on the story) but people didn't come here expecting hetero smut and i don't judge them for being surprised by that at least in this specific case. idk if there'll be any more of scenes like this but if that's the case i think it should be tagged as hentai too or something since the sexual content is not only gay. that's it. i guess. sorry if i missed the point here just wanted to give my opinion.

I thank you for your opinion. And shock I can completely understand, especially considering the genre and only expecting to see some man on man action. However, I think pure disgust is just a bit much for a reaction to something "unexpected". I mean I toally get it if you weren't expecting it, or if its not your cup of tea. But I just find it a little bit much to go all the way and call it disgusting. I guess because to me when people react like that it reminds me of those who say "ewwwww gay sex". I think sex is sex and we should never label it as "disgusting" no matter who is having sex.

Standard psychology is for you to immediately have an opposite reaction to an intense emotion. That’s why things become really funny right after your scared. Something to do with using up the chemicals in your body that create that emotion and only having the chemicals left for the opposite. It’s pretty common to see people react to shock with disgust. To behave differently is to fight human nature. Those who behave better have better control over their emotions.
When people have a consistent reaction to a certain type of behavior, that has nothing to do with an immediate reaction. That’s a developed attitude, which is a way they have chosen to behave. They’ve made a conscious decision to behave badly.
If anyone wouldn't mind, could you explain why the heterosexual sex is so off-putting to so many? I am a fujoshi, but honestly I find it realistic and in a way refreshing. Of course bl is read for gay sex, but I don't think there is anything wrong with the author not only doing what they want, but adding in some real world in yo face "everyone isn't gay" factaoids. I mean it adds to the story and deepens the plot a bit sometimes, plus its a huge change to the yaoi we always read. Is it because it is a woman? I mean we didn't even see her vagina. Is it the breast? The only thing that bothered me was that there was no condom and all I could think is "OMG SHE IS GONNA GET PREGNANT?! THIS IS GONNA BE SUCH A PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE!! HE GONNA GET WITH YOO-IL AND BITCH GONNA COME AT THEM WITH A BABY!" Lol
Thank you for anyone who wants to help me understand!! Because tbh the only thing I can think is that everyone finds women disgusting which is a bit off-putting to me.
