The author's 3rd and most recent work, 天命獨絕 (Heaven's Official Blessings) copyright was sold and has been confirmed for a live-action and donghua (anime)! Not too sure if it'll get a audio drama. Really angsty and beautiful, spanning over 244+ chapters including a few extras.

I too am totally fine with bromance, but i am totally against wei ying end up with someone else that too a woman. I genuinely accepted the fact that everyone else is straight, i didnt even ship anyone else...
I'd rather have no romance for the mcs than to ruin my precious, official, canon ship.

I wish I could get the entire story ONCE ... as intended before it gets all twisted and bastardized into something to reinforce sexual repression rather than (as it looked to be written - and the whole project started out) to let a beautiful story ... be beautiful first. Actually this made me rather bummed out; I was gonzo crazy about what was happening with this work. Now ... changing names, hiding sexuality behind homogenized cultural molds completely ignoring the power of love? Yeah. That's "new." So new it's a little tragic, I think. Makes me sad.
by the time all that twisting rewriting losing the plot the english version is just another tv show: 'Supernatural 2bros but in China'... omg that's devastating! Not a thing good about that news at all. It means I don't get to experience the REAL story because I can't read Chinese. Fck that's so sad my chest hurts. It was so FRESH so LIGHT the LOVE underneath was SHINING so far above and beyond cultural homophobic cliche' ... to get made into just another anime like all the others excreted into culturally molded beige cliche' is like mutilating Eagles because turkeys can't fly. Wrecked my whole night, man.
The animation changes the flow of the story (just the flow, not entirely the basic plot unlike the drama claims to do so). But it did keep the subtle romantic aspect of their relationship. The ed is clearly from lwj's perspective to wwx (Its sad and romantic and a beautiful song) . I am ok even if there is NO KISS. But i cannot even IMAGINE them not in love AND end up with someone else.
If I knew chinese, I would finish reading Scum Villain and HOB, too.
The current English chapters are not updated as regularly as GDC hiks~~ I hope HOB donghua will have the same quality as GDC.

I feel the same way, fam. If they already cut out the bl, I'd rather they focus on the plot rather than the unnecessary hetero romance. But it's China urgh like what do we expect
Yea... Makes me sad that a favorite work gets to come to live but it's not even the same bc they took out such a crucial part of the work. How does it even work... Like they can write Wang Ji helping Wu Xian as loyalty, but so much of what he does was because he loves him, which basically gets the entire plot moving.
Yea, I hope for the chapters to be updated more frequently too so many more people will know about HOB. It's honestly such a beautiful story.
If you're desperate enough, Google translator can be your best friend. Alot of stuff might be lost in translation, but it's still doable. I read it both in chinese and tried Google translator to test it out, but it's still doable at some parts

Since I don't see a lot of people talking about it, here are some speculations and confirmed news from weibo and from what my friends tell me.
Confirmed:
- slated to air next year
- will be around 40 episodes
- official english title is "the untamed"
- has a big budget (so y'all can expect quality)
- instead of wuxian and wangji being married/ becoming cultivation partners, it will be changed to sworn brotherhood (so yes, it won't be BL (╯°Д °)╯╧╧)
Speculations (unconfirmed news! this is what some people on weibo are speculating based on photos taken on the set of filming and other unconfirmed sources):
- wuxian was seen wearing a mask, some are speculating that instead of him dying when he was the yiling patriarch, they might changed it to him disappearing instead
- possible love-line between wuxian and wenqing (hasnt appeared in the manhua yet) but bc a lot of novel-fans were pissed about them making it non-bl already, there's also a possibility that there will be no love-line at all
- major spoiler!! if they decide to do a love-line between wuxian and wenqing, it's likely that there'll be plot changes bc wenqing has already died
