Well, I can only think that he didn't ask her to give up her work, he expected she would want to from what he had seen in life. But what he wanted was for her to want him and not walk away when it was hard. I don't think that makes him a jerk really. She left last time right when her mom committed suicide..She was emotional and she didn't talk to him about her concerns but just left. He never fell for anyone else, but sought her out again because he loves her.. To me, this was a better story because it wasn't easily answered, but the answer was... work together no matter what.. and I think she had to have time away from him and then time again with him to know what she was giving up if she just chose work and not tried for both. I liked this story.
Sorry, I couldn't enjoy this story at all. The guy was a major ass. He thinks the one being asked to give up everything has to be the one to reach out? I really wish I could think of this as a happy ending but I can only think of it as tragic. Losing her memory of him would have been the only thing to make this a happy ending. His lack of character development is also why it's difficult to understand the reason for their original breakup. She broke up with him for a reason that has OBVIOUSLY not yet been resolved, after all. Ktbn.
