I agree with you but it’s also not appropriate to shift all the blame on seungtaek because he didnt ask or expect kyubin to cover for him and even after that he never really knew the extent of the consequences that kyubin had to suffer. I’m sure in the future we will see that resolved (or i really hope so because i hate to see kyubin cornered and alone like this).
WOW knowing how much Kyubin has given up because of Seung-taek kind of pisses me off sometimes with how wishy washy he behaves. If we disregard the internalized homophobia and expectations placed on Seung-taek by society and his parents, Seung-taek really just keep stringing this poor boy along. Kyubin essentially gave up his entire reputation and then some to prevent you from losing out on that international school and then we find out Kyubin's grandma had to shell out a mini fortune to pay a settlement Kyubin wasn't even the cause of by being Seung-taek scapegoat. When you put that into perspective plus Kyubin's simple minded acceptance of just being with Seung-taek you really do have to pity the guy for falling in love with someone like Seung-taek who while I understand his hesitation hasn't done much in terms of justifying Seung-taek's dogeared loyalty. Has Seung-taek ever actually properly thanked Kyubin do we know, because Kyubin really gets the shorter end of the stick in their relationship? That isn't to say Kyubin is perfect blackmailing and bullying his classmate Seunghee as it's certainly a horrible thing to do,and while I don't condone it, i understand it played on his persona he's made himself adopt in defense for Seung-taek whom he's overly protective of.
