I was pretty fine and enjoying it, too, until they brought up the domestic abuse angle again. The way it was handled felt rushed and shallow, almost comical and the end was anti climatic and unearned. Considering the format of this manga a subplot like this was doomed from the start. I doubt anyone really needed to know more than Minami having abusive parents.
Other than that I'd call those chapters a blunder in an otherwise fun read

Potential is about the only thing Shizuku had. Conceptually it could be a good idea but an arc like that can't be rushed in like 3 short chapters. Entire mangas can take up to dozens of chapters to handle a plot like that and here it is just thrown in on a whim and ends abruptly without fleshing anything out.
They spent an entirety of one sentence to explain Minami's relationship with her parents. And apparently they tried to kill her everyday which sounds so silly to me. I guess they didn't really try hard enough. And Shizuku is an incredibly bland edgelord, I can't take her serious.
I see your point and I'm not against the idea of drama. I just think the execution is bad

yes the chapters regarding her abuse were short that does not take away from the manga in and of itself at all it adds depth to the characters even more so how the 2 MC's move ahead in their relationship is great . not all stories need 20 chapters to explain something and as was mentioned before this manga is something the author did on their own twitter account to pass the time and honestly i would love to see this author make this into something more worth the time to read ie much much longer and more indepth more character fine tuning . however all in all i have enjoyed this and will continue to do so for as long as the author keeps writing this it is that simple if you enjoy something then enjoy it if not then do not bother even commenting on it

If I find it shallow and anti climatic, I'm going to comment on that. What's so wrong with that? I enjoy this story, I just found this part badly executed.
Sure, not every story needs 20 chapters to explain a heavy, complex and character driven topic like domestic abuse and neglect, unless you want it to be good. I definitely prefer show don't tell over an exposition dump and a lazy conclusion.
The manga's format was not suited for an arc like that, hence I'm glad it went back to slice of life.

Agreed. It was quite jarring. For that matter there has been this weird physical abuse angle toward the younger MC throughout... even in this chapter. Ashtrays? Kicks to the stomach? Ha... fucking ha. So not funny. And both the MC's response, which was to respond at all? Classic domestic abuse. Is that what this story is really about? Because that's what I'm getting from it.
A lot of people seem pretty hard on this, structurally and in terms of pacing story flow. This isn't a proper full length manga. It's a casual little webcomic made for fun on the artist's twitter. Just a bit of fun exploring the lives of these characters. Don't take it so seriously. (also it's ongoing. Ignore the "completed" status, this website does that all the time.
