I would agree with you except he is good at hiding what he is really thinking. So as far as DG is seeing he just wants him back as a sex toy. Alex isn't showing anything deeper then that an he sure as hell isn't saying anything to even remotely hint that he wants DG as anything more then a sec doll. If he had just said " I have a lot of trauma in the past but to me you are something I want in my life" it would have been a fraction better then let's be sec friends.
No i understand from DGs perspective he hasn't changed and just wants his body when in reality it's the opposite in the end it comes down to communication
Like at the beginning i was completely on DGs side and thought alex was a complete dick, which he was, but now that I somewhat understand his side I'm siding with him more than DG, Like I get why he's acting like this. His previous relationship was obviously traumatic so he's sworn off relationships.
I think he's more scared then confused and that's why he's in denial. Like because of his past relationship he subconsciously refuses to acknowledge what he's feeling which is why he acts like he doesn't understand why he's feeling the way he is.
And yes he fucked up again in this chapter by mentioning being sex partners again but the reason he said that is obviously because he's trying to make sense of his feelings without resulting it into love because he's scared so he defaults back to sex because thats what he knows
