Unless the author gives us a background about DG and develops his personality more then I don't think he and Jiwon are equals on the hardships they have been through in their lives.
Most importantly you need to take into consideration that DG is responsible for being hurt.He caused everything to himself.He has plenty of choices while Jiwon is someone who has been abused since childhood by his parents and he never had any choices.They just threw him away.
So far Jiwon has had it way worst than DG
DG is a random dude who simply had a rough first "relationship" experience.
And that's it.Stuff like that happen everyday.
What happened to Jiwon is much more serious and happens rarely.To grow up without love.To have no experience of it whatsoever.
Being rejected by your most beloved people simply for being yourself.
All that caused Jiwon many problems he is in disadvantage.
While DG gained a lot from his hard time with Jiwon.
Seems like he finally knows what he wants now and probably is more assertive.
Jiwon didnt gain anything from his hardships.He developed multiple personalities and set up walls around him to cope.
So don't put them together on this.

i never said anything about DG suffering more than alex. i didn't even try to make it a competition over who's suffered the most and it doesnt take sherlock holmes to figure out that alex has def suffered more. wat i said was "so has DG" but that doesn't necessarily imply that i meant DG's had it just as much as alex, does it? i was just broadly saying that DG has had it rough too, with alex treating him like he did prior to their separation, but nothing about the amount of suffering comparable to alex's. IT WAS MEANT TO B A BROAD TERM and by no means did i even try to make their hardships a competition nor was i saying DG suffered more or just as much as alex. i didn't mean it like that. if u read it and interpreted it like that, then that's on u. i didn't mean it like that. perhaps i should've been more specific with my wording.
but yes i do agree with you. alex has definitely suffered more than DG.
