Many marriages overcome infidelity. Forgiving someone who is really remorseful and wants a second chance is part of being...well....a good human according to most religions, is it not? It's up to the spouse who was betrayed whether to forgive or not. He suffered. She's suffered. Both of them cheated--both were manpulated, too. I think that helped them understand. Junpei did wrong, and it messed up his work, his life, and hurt his wife. He will always have to deal with that guilt.
But that marriages can overcome cheating--yep. They can. Depends on how much love, how much repentance, how much one wants it to continue past pai.
