I think the Chinese guy likes the seme the best (since they had a prior history). With his personality, I think he was just having too much fun messing with the uke. I actually like the story as is (it is different from main stream BL - and I'm such a sucker for supernatural). Sometimes I feel some of mangago readers prefer just one on one, fluffy relationships, which is why they might prefer the story to be different. I'll give most stories a chance (unless it's like Animal X where there was too much hate and rape and rapey hate and hatey rape).
