she never really switched bodies. she was always looking at him, and watching him and created this illusion based off of her assumptions that his life is really perfect while hers--a nightmare. So she ends up creating him from the data she collects from stalking him and eventually lives as if she were him but really it's all made up inside her head...later she comes to an equilibrium with who she is and goes back to her original form while her child self and desirable self watch over her
I also got bored around that chapter but just push through it gets interesting and the pacing becomes better
