Thats what I thought too but I think its a giveaway when in chap 34 at the last scene at the top of the roof he clutched his stomach but looking back at one chapter (i forgot which) when Claude pierced his older bro in the stomach which shows that he's dead.
I dont know if im just jumping in conclusions or what (づ￣ ³￣)づ
