Oh my God !! I was thinking about it too! About them as actors or them from serial Sherlock :3
Author did explain that it was the case indirectly
And at the end translator gave the different world play and stuff like that author used as a direct references of Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbactch and Richard Armitage
Plus the fact the Benedict was the voice of Smaug in the Hobbits just like here ;)
