Im pretty sure his character is still developing and the author has already touched on it (how 'heavy' he is...it's not really seen in a good light in the manga; also why he was always dumped). There was that text message where hotaru says she doesnt think he really means it when he says he doesnt need anyone but her -- so im sure we'll see some development

The way of Hananoi's view about love, what I should say..... It looks sweet and pretty in Manga but in reality, it's pretty negative. I hope author will change his view through the development of relationship
