Well, he can't be a closet gay because they all know he likes men. But I agree with you that there's probably some unrequited love going on there... The poor thing, I hope he's not in love with the straight guy T_T
You can be closeted and still have your closest friends know that you're gay. It just means that you aren't open for the whole world to know
Idk, i think Akari is a 'closet gay', that's why he sounded so bitter. I think he likes the other friend but doesn't have the courage to confess. Reach i know, but that's my take on Akari.
