If lihuan ends up with someone else (which is never gonna happen because the two of them are incredibly happy in the timeskip), yuyang's thoughts on a relationship with lihuan's only going to get worse. it won't slap him back to reality, i think it'll only cement his cowardly thoughts.
Imagine telling someone that you love them over and over again then they'll just tell something along the lines of ok, but you don't love me and I don't love you. Honestly at this point I don't give a fuck if Lihuan ends up with someone else, maybe if yuyang sees him with someone he'll get slapped back to reality or some shit, but damn yuyang needs to man the fuck up.
