Not sure exactly which aspect had confused you, so I'll say this:
Anya is the youngest of three brothers. The oldest "Ken-nii" also had the sleep disorder and this caused his fatal motorcycle accident. The middle one, Shinya, doesn't have it (but is studying medicine because he wants to cure it). He and Anya sometimes flash back to the time just before Ken-nii left for the last time (Anya being a brat and Shinya holding in his feelings). The helmet Anya carries around is Ken-nii's.

Shinya has hired the detective (who is the older brother of...horror girl; can't remember either of their names) to find Anya, which coincides with the detective's own wishes.

Their investigations take them to the game, where the kitty-head "Carmine" tries to abduct the detective but it's a set-up and is captured instead. He turns out to be the brother of Iride's mum. We don't know exactly how he got involved, but they showed a flashback of him accepting two conditions in return for... being allowed to go back to his sister? Either way, his main concern seems to be his sister and it seems he's forced to act for the game.

Iride is called Akitsuki but his original name is Akira and he was adopted by the Irides after their real son Akirsuki died but the mother couldn't accept the death. Now he voluntarily embraces being "Akistuki" to keep his mum happy.

We don't know if Iride is more than he's letting on (e.g. had met Yuzu before, knows more about the game etc.) or if he just seems suspicious because he's developed an adopted kid's art of noticing and pleasing everyone.

Either way, he says things like "I want EVERYONE to leave the island safely," which suggests he knows or has figured out that maybe everyone, even Paca, is being forced (and that's why Yuzu is in danger if she doesn't stick to her role). That's all just implied and not confirmed so far.

also apparently Akki's uncle is the friend of Nanami (one of the underground defector guys)
- though i am confused about how the let's players abductions started since it seems that Akki's dad's research team was there for genome research (nothing to do with let's plays or games)

also Paca is this Hikkamori guy who was apparently coworkers with Akki's dad, good chance the other council guys were also part of the research team

i'm guessing by the pic of Akki's dad in Yuzu's closet that she was prob part of the research team too and we already know they were all doing genome research


---also this is just speculation on my part but i have a feeling Akki was a test subject of some nature, and maybe a clone or something of the original Akatsuki since his "adoptive" father looks like him based off Onigasaki's reaction when he saw the pic in Yuzu's closet where the guy was wearing a lab coat and Onigasaki thought it was Akki
